FREE STYLE SHOWS

One of the BEST things about the Sewing & Stitchery Expo are the FREE style shows -- upstairs in the Pavillion -- we used to call it "Room A" -- but this year, we have renamed the area the "Expo Runway". Here's an audience shot from last year...

Marcy Tilton and Sandra Betzina are putting together a show called "Inspired Closets Marcy and Sandra Take Vogue Outside The Box (And Into their own hands)

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday -- here's the Expo Runway schedule:

9:30 AM -- "Making it work! Simplicity presents inspired by Project Runway plus Must Haves Spring"

10:30 AM -- Louise Cutting & Linda Lee present "Your Personal Style Puzzle...Putting All the Pieces Together!"

11:30 AM -- McCall's, Vogue, Butterick Fashions with Palmer/Pletsch tips

1:30 PM -- Sandra Betzina & Marcy Tilton

2:30 PM -- The Independent Pattern Company Alliance presents their Fashion Extravaganza

These companies work hard to put together these wonderful fast-paced style shows. We hire professional models for them, Mary Collen is the Style show Manager. Which, believe me -- IS a full time job during the show. She is the woman BEHIND the scenes. She has the complete roster for every style show. Every show has a rehearsal, there is a dresser for every model for every show...every single garment is put into the computer schedule...

For you to show your appreciation for all the BEHIND THE SCENES time and work involved in putting on these FREE STYLE SHOWS -- not to mention ALL THAT SEWING -- please attend every single show during your time at Expo.

If you don't do that -- you will definitely be missing something!!

And -- soon -- I'll post the SUNDAY SCHEDULE -- it's all new this year!!

  1. These style shows are a definite "must see". The fashions are awesome and inspring. Great way to take a load off your feet too, and they,re free! :-)
As a "behind the scenes" fashion show dresser, I usually miss the actual shows, but I get to see the clothes up close and personal. There are some pretty awesome patterns out there! My pink/red entry was inspired by one of these outfits!
