One of Expo's CTA's, Laura Lee Mendoza -- recently had surgery which I've been following on her Facebook posts. Even though she is recovering from surgery, she managed to have a 4-H sewer come to her house...apparently, she was teaching while resting in a Lazy-boy...(which is how I like to work, too!)

Thanks for all you do, Laura. Your sewing enthusiasm in WHAT THE SHOW IS ALL ABOUT. Here's a picture of you from backstage at the Coats & Clark 2010 Pink & Red Fashion Show. YOU LOOKED MARVELOUS...

Happy to hear you are feeling better every day...!

  1. Hey Rita! Wow! What a surprise to open the blog this morning and see me!! Way cool! I am feeling much better, but still have 5 more weeks of recovery. I am completely off painkillers, but that doesn't mean I still don't get pain. I just hate being in that loopy fog of nothingness. At least the twinges now and then remind me to take it easy. Good thing my relaxation hobby is sewing and doesn't weigh much. Imagine if my hobby was...say...landscaping with rocks :-) Of course, my cat just doesn't understand why I can't pick her up and why she can't sit on my lap. I have had lots of well wishes from my sewing buddies across the U.S. Yay, for the internet!
    Hugs to everyone!

  2. Great to hear from you, Laura! I'll email you the picture. You should HAVE IT FRAMED!! Keep up the good recovery!!
